I've had the pleasure of "working" with the Carollo family for several years now and if there's one thing I've noticed in that time (besides what wonderful people they truly are), it's that family + faith are very important to them. Because of this, you can't help but feel the love when you are around them. It was no different on this sunny Saturday afternoon in June when Jessica + Paul started their new life together. It was also apparent - long before his amazing toast at the reception - that Jesse is truly the apple of her father's eye. Being the father of a daughter myself, his words rang especially true to me. So, it didn't take me long to decide I wanted to base their wedding trailer around his special words. Hey, you gotta love heartfelt toasts like that! Congratulations Jesse + Paul, I wish you and your families all the best. Thanks for allowing me to be a part of your special day. Here's the trailer for their upcoming wedding film.
When I first heard Our Lady Peace's new song a couple weeks back, I immediately made a mental note to use it in an upcoming wedding. I loved the feel of the song and especially the powerful lyrics. As I filmed Leah + Josh's wedding over the weekend, I thought to myself "that's the perfect song for their trailer". I loved it so much, I actually went a bit overboard creating their trailer. It's almost more of a highlight than a trailer.. oh well, I'll call it the "extended" wedding trailer.
Leah + Josh were married at Kirk In The Hills and their reception celebration was held at the Dearborn Inn. They are a super couple and I can't wait to begin editing their wedding film. I worked alongside Emily Dowd for the first time. She was great to work with and I'm sure captured some terrific images. The Simone Vitale Band (one of my faves...) rocked the house as usual. Simone told the story of playing at Leah's high school when she was in 9th grade and how she told him "one day, you're going to play at my wedding"... how cool is that!
So, here you go, the "extended" wedding trailer for Leah + Josh's upcoming wedding film. Hope you like... Congrats L + J!
Julie + Paul were married at the chapel on the campus of beautiful Orchard Lake St. Mary's. After their very traditional Catholic ceremony (much of it spoken in Latin), they headed off to celebrate at The Inn at St. John's in Plymouth. It was great working along side Yakov Faytlin. It's been a while since we've worked together and I forgot just how much fun he is. Emerald City Designs worked their magic as usual and Persuasion kept the party happening all night long. Here's the teaser trailer for Julie + Paul's upcoming wedding film. Congrats and enjoy your honeymoon!
Lisa and I attended a special open house last night to celebrate the opening of Lindsey Nartker Designs and The Event Studio's brand new digs. Located just north of downtown Birmingham on Old Woodward, her new place ROCKS! It is so cool! It really is so much like Lindsey herself; cool, contemporary, and hip. We had a chance to meet up with some friends in the wedding + event industry, as well as say hi to some new faces. Lindsey is such a very warm and caring person, you owe it to yourself to check her - and The Event Studio - out if you're looking to hire an event planner. Congrats, Lindsey on the new place!
With Memorial Day weekend upon us, "wedding season '09" is officially in full gear. I have some amazing weddings on the books for this year and I'm really excited about capturing and sharing some truly special wedding day stories. Before I get to this seasons' weddings, I have one more clip from 2008 that I'd like to share. Kristin + David's wedding ceremony was held at Kirk In the Hills and the reception was at the beautiful Oakland Hills Country Club. This clip - featuring Kristins' preps - is very indicative of my "Cinema Documentary" storytelling style with it's time-shifted introduction (aren't all the little flower girls cute!!!). I hope you like it. Coming soon... Weddings '09!! To view their wedding trailer and see a few great photos from Laurie Tennent, click here.
